Default Runes with extra health

Hi, I just got a rune with +30 health from the "Ink quest" in Nightfall. my question is: If I put this rune on my chest armor piece, which already gives +25 health by default, will this rune override the initial health bonus, thus only giving me +5 extra health? should I put this rune on my gloves, which haven't got a default health bonus, just to be sure?

No, you probably are a Dervish? It gives you an additional 30 health. So 25+30 in total.

The Rune of Minor Vigor you have will not affect the health bonus of your Survivor insignia. You will keep the +25 health and add another +30 health with the rune.

The rune is non-stackable, which means that you cannot use any other Vigor rune on any piece of armor. You can still use additional Survivor or Vitae upgrades.

Thanks. I don't know what a survivor insigna is, but I am talking about the +25 health that's on my chest piece that I bought. and yes I am a dervish.

Each piece of armor can have one rune AND one insignia added to them that enhance and add to your armor. They do not take away anything from your armor. For example, your chest piece could have a rune of vigor and a radient insignia on it and both mods would add to the armor. That said, if you try to add more than one rune or insignia, the new one will override the previous. Try double clicking on the rune and then on your armor piece, a window will pop up and give you the stats you are about to get if you accept. That way you can see if it adds or takes away from the existing piece.

Have you seen the superior vigor rune? A bit pricy but it adds +50 health

It doesn't really matter where you put the rune since you're going to get the +30 health bonus anyway. But it wouldn't override the +25 health you get by being a dervish.

And also, a Survivor insignia is an insignia that you can place on your armor in addition to a rune. The survivor insignia grants health, either 5, 10, or 15 depending on what piece of armor you put it on.

That +25 health is just one of the innate benefits that the Dervish armor chestpieces give you. Those bonuses will indeed stack with your rune.

A note on runes marked as "Non-stacking": That means that if you have multiple runes of the same "type" (Vigor, an attribute), the effects will not stack, and only the highest one will be in effect (Such as if you have a minor vigor and a superior vigor on, only the superior vigor will take effect.)

Also, in my opinion, Major Vigor is the way to go, Superior Vigor is only 9 health more but typically costs much much more. In later PvE areas 9 health isn't going to matter when monsters are dealing massive damage anyway. That's how I see it, anyway. Of course if you have the cash to splurge, this is a non-issue.

Just to clarify what Heimdallw32 said, the 'positive' effects of multiple runes that dont' stack, won't stack, ie a minor vigor + a major vigor + a superior vigor will be the same as if you just had a superior vigor. However, the negative effects WILL stack, so if you have 3 superior runes of axe mastery on your armor, you'll suffer 3x the negative effect, ie -225hp but only get +3 axe attribute points.
